Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
These terms govern your use of GovernmentPhoneGuide.com. By using this site, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Who We Are
GovernmentPhoneGuide.com is an independently operated informational website, described in more detail on our About page. We are not a government agency, the FCC, USAC, or any phone carrier — see our full disclaimer for that distinction.
What This Site Provides
We publish informational guides about the Lifeline program and related assistance, state-by-state provider information, and a free eligibility checker. We do not process Lifeline applications, make eligibility decisions, or act on your behalf with any government agency or provider. Applying for Lifeline always happens through USAC’s National Verifier or your state’s own system, never through us.
Using the Eligibility Checker
Our eligibility checker gives you an estimate based on the information you enter. It’s provided as a convenience, not a guarantee — see our privacy policy for how your checker inputs are handled, and our disclaimer for the limits on what an estimate means. You agree to use the checker for its intended purpose and not to submit deliberately false information to test, disrupt, or misuse it.
Acceptable Use
When using this site, you agree not to:
- Scrape, copy, or republish our content, including our provider comparisons and income limit tables, without permission
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the eligibility checker or the site itself
- Use automated bots or scripts to access the site beyond normal search-engine indexing
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to impersonate this site, its author, or any government agency
Our Content
The guides, comparisons, tables, and eligibility checker on this site are our original work, researched according to our editorial policy. You’re welcome to link to our pages and quote brief excerpts with attribution. Republishing full articles, our income limit tables, or our checker’s underlying logic without permission isn’t allowed.
Third-Party Links and Services
This site links to official government sources and individual provider websites. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices once you leave GovernmentPhoneGuide.com. Some provider links may be referral links, described in our advertising disclosure.
No Warranty
This site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep information accurate and current, as described in our editorial policy, but we don’t guarantee the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any specific piece of information is fully up to date at the moment you read it. Program rules, income limits, and provider offerings can change — always confirm anything important directly with USAC, the FCC, or your state’s Lifeline system.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Government Phone Guide is not liable for any damages, losses, or costs arising from your use of this site — including decisions made, benefits missed, or applications denied based on information found here. Nothing in this section limits liability that can’t legally be limited.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
If Part of These Terms Doesn’t Apply
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest of the terms still apply in full.
